Feldbreite Pavilion

Project: Feldbreite Pavilion
Brief info: Public pavilion
Location: Emmen, Lucerne
Client: Feldbreite Konsortium / Client advisor Wüest & Partner
Realisation: 2014 – 2016

The new Feldbreiteplatz Pavilion offers flexible and adaptable space for events and uses of all sizes and types. It acts as a meeting point and should become an identity-defining element for the new Feldbreite urban district.

The pavilion comprises a large roof structure, a long seating element and a small building which houses the specific functions of the pavilion – caretaker’s room and electrical transformer station.

This small building acts as the main structural support for the long beam-like roof that then cantilevers out across the seating element. The pavillion references the concrete element production that was previously carried out on the site, creating a link with the immediate history of the place.
